Oh OK šĀ Today marks the end of an era in Paris fashion as Sarah Lerfel’s acclaimed boutique Colette closes. Here she leaves the Chloe show this fall in a jacket with the tongue-in-cheek humor she popularized at Colette. It was a welcome antidote to the sometimes too-serious fashion world.

French model Caroline de Maigret paused for a minute outside the Rodarte show in front of some “love” graffiti. Not an accident, because we photographers love her! She was one of several show goers during fashion week to wear spring-y jeans in white or pale washed colors. Anything to usher in the warmer weather.

Chiara Ferragni of the Blonde Salad wore a great varsity jacket from Opening Ceremony to the Herve Leger show – an apropos choice since the actual Olympics opening ceremony happened the night before. The plaid scarf and over-the-knee boots strike a balance between sporty and sexy.

Ruby Aldridge in Vintage, Outside the Mercedes Benz Tents
Some fashion people play fast and loose with the term “vintage.” It doesn’t refer to a bag from two seasons ago, but rather the treasures you can find when hunting through racks and racks of old stuff, as at Antique Boutique on Broadway in the ’80s and ’90s, when vintage had its heyday. Model Ruby Aldridge continues the tradition with the vintage stuff she wears all the time, like these cool jeans and Western boots. The resulting look is truly original. Striped Jacket, Outside Max Mara
One advantage of the unseasonably warm weather this spring: New Yorkers actually have a chance to wear jackets, not segue immediately from coats to tank tops. This season there’s a great variety of luxe jackets out there in a mix of materials and colors, like this one with striped sleeves and lining and leather piping outside the Max Mara show in Milan.
