Boots on the Ground
A few photos from a piece I shot in December for Footwear Plus on what boots New Yorkers are wearing now, and with what outfits. It was not easy to find boots that might qualify as “exciting,” since many people have reverted to basic black boots, but I did see some haute hiking boots, shearling boots, combat boots, lace-ups, metallics and prints. And when the city is dreary, colorful waterproof boots brighten up a rainy day.

Normally I wouldn’t associate bright, saturated cherry red with spring, when pastels are usually the order of the day, but this color has been everywhere in NYC this season, especially on coats and jackets. Bright red flowers stood out on this robe coat in Noho.
