Street Chic: Beating the Heat in Paris

This incredibly hot weather is reminding me of something unexpected: last October in Paris, when temperatures soared into the 90s. Nevertheless the stylish women of Paris fashion week managed to looked pulled together and professional while going to the shows. Stylist Barbara Martello kept cool in a flared skirt and black silk tank top. Sexy shoes – not flip flops – make a barely-there outfit more formal in crazy heat.

Ginger in a Vintage Skirt

If skirts are a must-have this spring, vintage skirts are even more appealing, because they’re charming, timeless and usually one of a kind. Take Ginger, a Scottish girl who went to several of the Milan shows. Here she wears a vintage YSL skirt that she scored at a secondhand store for “six quid” – not bad!

Tulle Skirt, Outside Stella McCartney

A particularly windy day added to the drama of this gorgeous outfit outside yesterday’s Stella McCartney show. A tulle skirt is sexy in black, not too girlish, and the Jil Sander knit cap with veil, first spotted on Anna Dello Russo, has become a real hit with the fashion crowd. The half-and-half stockings are the icing on the cake.
