So many things to love about this look on Denni Elias. Such a pretty shade of pink, in gorgeous velvet that also looks quite cozy and comfortable!

Daria Strokous at Lanvin

There’s nothing quite like the glamour of Paris at night. Model Daria Strokous exited the Lanvin show in a fabulous black and gold beaded mini dress, beautifully dressed for a night on the town.

Update: the dress is Balmain.

Miroslava Duma in Lanvin

One from the archives: Miroslava Duma in a green tween Lanvin tweed top and miniskirt. Love how she mixed it with an army green jacket, lots of bracelets and a delicious little Chanel bag.

Street Chic: Beating the Heat in Paris

This incredibly hot weather is reminding me of something unexpected: last October in Paris, when temperatures soared into the 90s. Nevertheless the stylish women of Paris fashion week managed to looked pulled together and professional while going to the shows. Stylist Barbara Martello kept cool in a flared skirt and black silk tank top. Sexy shoes – not flip flops – make a barely-there outfit more formal in crazy heat.

Tweed Coat and Spectator Shoes, Outside Lanvin

An aristocratic look of a voluminous tweed cloak with spectator shoes and a bob haircut. Unusual but compelling.

Catherine Baba at Lanvin

On the opposite side of the style spectrum is stylist Catherine Baba, who really has a flair for drama. She wore a pale pink silk dress with Chinoiserie accessories: a tassel necklace and earrings and a straw hat for the hot weather. The jewelry looks like Eddie Borgo but the design is slightly different. Baba may be about fashion, but she’s not all about labels.

Virginia Smith in Classic Workwear

Amid all the fantastical outfits of Paris fashion week, it’s the classic work attire that provides the most useful inspiration. Virginia Smith wore an off-white silk button down and tailored trousers to the Lanvin show. The accessories – python print clutch and polished brown leather boots – are what makes it fashion.

Anna Wintour in Plaid

Anna Wintour, entering the Lanvin show in painterly plaid. Love how her personal style is both classic and colorful.

Giovanna Battaglia at Lanvin

Stylist Giovanna Battaglia arrived at Lanvin in a two-tone saturated orange and brown dress tied at the hips. Loved the accessories too: envelope clutch, translucent orange framed glasses and gold choker.

7 Days of Anna Dello Russo

Rarely do you see anyone have as much fun with fashion as Anna Dello Russo. Just when we thought she couldn’t top the last outrageously fashionable outfit during Paris fashion week, she would arrive in a completely different ensemble, having gone back to the hotel to change between shows. She favors designers from her native Italy and doesn’t shy from color or pattern. I can’t imagine how she packs the variety of headpieces, boots, suits, furs, jewels and dresses it takes for a single week, but I picture a couple of Louis Vuitton steamer trunks in her hotel room. Hats off to this over-the-top fashion plate who radiates chic sunshine wherever she goes. A seven-day roundup, after the jump.  (more…)

Susie Lau at Lanvin

Style Bubble’s Susie Lau, aka Susie Bubble, was beautifully and quixotically attired all week, often opting for emerging designers or vintage when everyone else went for the big established names. At Lanvin in the Tuileries she wore a palette of grays, pinks and blues, spring’s new neutrals.

Pink Hat and Fur Coat, Outside Lanvin

First off, the hat is great. How often do you see this wide-brimmed Australia outback style hat in the color pink? And paired with this embellished shaggy fur coat, leggings and ’50s style heels, the whole thing cuts a beautiful silhouette. She’s about to ride off into the Paris fashion week sunset. (more…)
