Cold Feet, Winter 2016
One notable trend to emerge last winter and this one is exposed ankles, no matter what the temperature. This photo was taken when the polar vortex bore down on New York fashion week last winter. Part of it is due to the conundrum of what to wear with cropped, wide cut jeans and pants, the new silhouette that is edging out skinny jeans. And part of it may just be plain old fashion masochism.

Winter white is also a great way to transition into spring. Blogger Laura Comolli of Purses and I dared to bare her ankles at the Rebecca Minkoff show in New York, mixing white cotton pants with a fur-trimmed eggshell white coat and colorful Paola Cademartori bag.

Signs of Spring: Natalie Cantell at BCBG FW2015
It’s frigid here in New York, so it was good to see a few signs of spring in the clothes yesterday. Stylist Natalie Cantell wore a botanical print Karen Walker coat to the BCBG show yesterday. Another thing we’ve been seeing in the fashion crowd no matter how cold it gets: bare ankles.
