The fashion set is definitely cliquey when it comes to favoring certain brands. Last spring, a number of editors wore Prada’s stripes to the Paris shows. This fall, Céline handbags have been on the arms of many. For color trends, look for lots of this vivid blue – we’ll call it Bill Cunningham blue – a surprising and refreshing color for fall. And of course the rest of her outfit is equally brilliant – from the sheer leopard top to the two-tone sunglasses to the studded bracelets and black and gold nail polish.
For the whole summer, many of us have had one go-to print: stripes. Well now I’m sick of them (at least until Resort 2012). Dark florals are a nice way to usher in the fall, as with the green floral pattern on this belted maxi dress, seen outside the Rag & Bone show.
Harlem’s Fashion Row presented the collections of four local designers on Friday, and a very fashionable crowd came to see the show. Above, Tiger Lily, a guest and New York DJ, in a leather top and skirt from H&M. The head scarf is also a good example of how a little bit of leopard can go a long way.
Handsome polo star Nacho Figueras came to yesterday’s Ralph Lauren show, but the fashion crowd was perhaps even more smitten with his gorgeous wife Delfina Blaquier, photographer, model and star of Ralph Lauren’s Romance campaign. She wore a beautiful embroidered jacket, taupe Hermes bag and open toe lace-up boots. More shots after the jump. (more…)
Stylist and street style darling Marina Muñoz arrived at the 3.1 Phillip Lim show in an adorable Western outfit, complete with kerchief tied at her neck and a wide brimmed outback hat. She has a real talent for picking out hats, which always give her outfits a jolt of individuality in a sea of fashionable people. This hat is a classic and a reference to her native Argentina. Full shot after the jump. (more…)
Here’s another example of a riotous mix of prints and color, seen on a woman outside the Jeremy Scott show. Believe it or not, this is not a jumpsuit but separates she skillfully coordinated. The top is vintage, the shorts Versace, the shoes Topshop. More detail shots, after the jump. (more…)
Amanda Hearst looked so sharp in Michael Kors at the designer’s show. The graphic red pants and black and white striped sweater are both au courant and totally wearable.
The beautiful Barbara Walters came to the Oscar de la Renta show in a brilliant red suit and red shoes, a popular color choice for fall.
Despite all the concern that there will never be another Halston, we may not have to worry. His aesthetic has been absorbed into the fashion zeitgeist so thoroughly that there are references everywhere, as with this ’70s chic brown jumpsuit on a guest outside the Theyskens’ Theory show.
Two very pretty girls in very pretty Vivienne Tam dresses with fringe, entering the Vivienne Tam show.
