Meredith Melling Burke at Ports 1961

More white pants in February, this time on Vogue‘s Meredith Melling Burke, in a flared style that goes well with a simple camel coat. The look is luxe but classic.

Taylor Swift at Rodarte

Dear Lord – I forgot I took this photo! Taylor Swift arrived at the Rodarte show in an exquisite lace dress by the designers. This kind of beautiful craftsmanship looks even better close up – and very pretty on the country music star, especially with her matte red lipstick.

All White, Outside the Honor Show

If, like me, you are confused about what to wear when it’s still hot and humid at the end of September, here’s one idea: don’t put away your summer whites just yet. They still look chic on a sunny day, especially when paired with bright or metallic accessories.

Emmanuelle Alt, Outside Rodarte

The epitome of grace under pressure, Emmanuelle Alt has really aced NY Fashion Week – not just with her composure but with her cool, casual wardrobe. Before she was named Editor in Chief of French Vogue, her look was super sporty. Now it has evolved to something more sophisticated but still entirely her own, like this combination of crisp blue button down, white jeans and Hermes bracelet watch. Simple but perfect.

The Clarins Girls at Honor

It’s hard to describe how incredibly glamorous the Clarins girls are unless you’ve seen them in person. Heiresses to the Clarins fortune, tall, blonde and gorgeous, they’re like something out of the Great Gatsby – with the style cred to boot.

All White, Vivienne Tam Show

In a recent interview with various designers, WWD asked them: white after Labor Day, yes or no? Most said yes – with certain conditions attached. It has to look intentional, not haphazard. Here’s a crisp, chic look outside the Vivienne Tam show last September – especially great with neon accessories.

White Lace Flapper Dress, Jazz Age Lawn Party

While it’s true that Coco Chanel popularized the little black dress in 1926, it was more for evening than for a summer garden party. Kudos to everyone who figured out that white was the standard 1920s attire for a hot summer day – like this vintage lace flapper dress with a beaded hem. All white in the summertime is still a chic choice today.

White Dress, Union Square

Loving the all-white look for summer 2011. The spectator shoes add a nice 1920s touch to this dress, and the artfully braided updo is perfect for hot weather.

White Overcoat in the Rain, Fifth Avenue

I always find it difficult to figure out what to wear on rainy summer days. This white cotton overcoat was a practical, lightweight and pretty solution at the Central Park Conservancy Luncheon. The earrings are Chanel.

Cream Colored Suit and Hat, Central Park Conservancy

The few men who attended the Central Park Conservancy luncheon last week dressed the part, like this guest in a beautiful cream colored suit and hat with a pale pink tie and pink pocket square. He’s carrying his dress shoes in that plastic bag – a practical choice on a rainy day.

Sandra Lee at the Central Park Conservancy Luncheon

New York’s new first lady of sorts, Governor Andrew Cuomo’s girlfriend Sandra Lee, exited a limo wearing white and a towering hat in the shape of huge pale flower. Though controversial in the food world, she’s quite a hit fashion wise. Full shot after the jump.  (more…)

Elena Perminov

I never get tired of exquisitely tailored white shirts or shirtdresses – like this one on a model off duty in the Tuileries.

Update: She is Elena Perminov.
