One of my favorite looks on Leaf Greener at couture week FW2016: a gorgeous green ruffled top and big dangly earrings. The ikat-print heels are an unexpected touch that work really well.
Casual chic: Ece Sukan pulls it all together with a crisp cotton top in French blue and a straw bag she scored at a market in Colombia.
A rule of thumb for dressing with hippie flair at music festivals: if you’re going to do it, do it with polish. A guest at Coachella weekend one went for a silk floral top that conjured up traditional embroidery patterns and topped it off with red lipstick. It also doesn’t hurt if your fringe bag is YSL.
It’s Linesiy Montero: the model exited the Etro show clad in a graffiti top by Jeremy Scott. That may look like a pack of smokes in her hand, but it’s actually a subversive and popular iPhone cover by Jeremy Scott for Moschino.
Such a sharp look on Karla Martinez de Salas – and believe it or not, she is about six months pregnant! The Miu Miu coat and top are a great boxy shape for maternity wear. The jeans aren’t actual maternity jeans, just low-cut J. Brands that she held onto, waiting for bell bottoms to come back. The wait is up!
We’re seeing a trend/counter-trend effect here at New York Fashion Week, with romantic, flowy dresses a la Gucci dueling with the sporty look of vintage jeans. High-waisted, light wash vintage Levis are the favorite of the moment, as seen on blogger Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What. She dresses them up with a Sally LaPointe top and Celine shoes. Some detail shots, after the jump. (more…)
An elegant long white silk skirt dialed down somewhat by a quilted cropped top in T-shirt form.
It’s easy to forget how totally crazy the scene outside the Paris fashion shows has gotten when you’re in the middle of it for a couple days. Scene from an average evening: Olivia Palermo entering the Fendi couture show, flanked by bodyguards and surrounded by photographers, tourists, selfie-seeking teenagers and PETA protesters.
More black and white, this time on Stylebop’s Leila Yavari. This cut of this leather skirt is perfect for 2015 – slim but not quite a pencil cut, with an athletic-style gathered waist.
Liv Tyler wore Stella McCartney head to toe to the designer’s show in NYC on Monday.
This sophisticated but relaxed look is the way to dress right now. At the Chloe show in Paris, Christina Pitanguy mixed and oversized cream colored top with a clingy luxex pleated skirt and platform heels. It’s all about volume, kept in check with flattering proportions.
The skirt or dress and sneakers trend is one of the better ones in the past few years. A guest at the Chloe show in Paris mixed a nautically inspired striped skirt with white sneakers and a print top for an easy and chic way to get around the city.
A cool mix of high and low fashion – military bomber jacket and jeans with a print top and fabulous mules.
