A pretty look in red and white on Tina Leung – and a good lesson in layering spring dresses when the weather isn’t cooperating!
One notable trend to emerge last winter and this one is exposed ankles, no matter what the temperature. This photo was taken when the polar vortex bore down on New York fashion week last winter. Part of it is due to the conundrum of what to wear with cropped, wide cut jeans and pants, the new silhouette that is edging out skinny jeans. And part of it may just be plain old fashion masochism.
Another nice high-low mix of Prada and street wear, this time on Giovanna Battaglia. At the Valentino show, she topped a denim shirt and Fenty x Puma sneakers with a gold jacquard Prada coat. The flash of ankle keeps the combination of jeans and a long coat chic, not clunky.
Vetements has really excited fashion fans in a way that few labels have in the recent past. Maybe it’s the combination of nice tailoring with a truly street, elevated athleisure feel. Outside the show yesterday in Paris, where Vetements showed a spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection, Veronika Heilbrunner wore a Vetements tee with a long black leather skirt and sneakers.
Graphic punch: Instagram’s Eva Chen wore graphic print in black and white to the Ralph Lauren show in New York.
Rain, rain go away! Daniela Zuccotti of Fregola handled the bad weather in Milan in style with a transparent umbrella and gray jumpsuit.
WWD’s Alex Badia mixed it up with different variations on pinstripes including a pinstriped trench at the Diane von Furstenberg show.
TGIF! Models Nastya Kusakina, Stasha Yatchuk and Irina Shnitman jumped for joy outside the Ulyana Sergeenko show in Paris – even though for them, it was the beginning of the work week.
This week I shot street style photos at the Kingpins Show, a denim trade show, for Team Peter Stigter in New York. It was a cool experience, and you can see all the photos on the Kingpins Facebook page. From the myriad denim swatches hanging inside to the jeans on the guests, there were so many looks that underscored the ubiquity of denim today. Where would we be without Levi Strauss? On Washington Street, construction workers labored in stone washed jeans while a girl whizzed by in shredded jeans and Converse sneakers.
Fashion journalist Jeffrey Podolsky of Barron’s after the Michael Bastian show. As soon as photographers asked for his picture, he lit up a cigarette and smoked it throughout the whole photo session. His outfit too is a bit unorthodox: a pinstriped suit paired with white sneakers, beaded bracelets and a colorful necklace.
These shoes were made for running! Stylist Charlotte Stockdale dashed into the Gucci resort show in white Dior sneakers, batik print coat, and plenty of charm(s).
Another good rainy day look in black and red, this time in a more casual iteration on model Vanessa Axente, spotted between shows at Paris couture week.
Loved this burst of yellow and white at the Kenzo show in Paris, plus the amazing architectural details on her sweater.
