I really like how Olivia Palermo styled this outfit, because when one is pulling a pair of (kind of loud) wide-legged black and white striped trousers out of one’s closet, one doesn’t necessarily think, now where is my equally attention-grabbing black and white striped shirt to go with? Yet somehow the whole thing comes together quite elegantly.
Raf Simons’ tenure at Dior has been marked by the same bold color statements he employed at Jil Sander. Nicole Warne wore a brilliant saffron-colored silk Dior vest to the couture show in Paris. Look for longer hemlines in coats and vests come fall, as cropped jackets disappear in favor of a more flowing silhouette.
I guess it’s the prep in me, but I’m always a sucker for bright colored pants in the summer, like these bright pink ones seen on Lorena Vergani at the Schiaparelli couture show in Paris.
Model Soo Joo Park wore an embroidered jacket by Stella McCartney to the resort show in New York. Embroidered floral motifs have been big on the runways recently – both in womenswear and men’s. Also: love her new hair color!
A good example of how the 70s are coming back in a way that’s quirky but not at all cheesy. Those glasses!
Update: This is designer Jennifer Fisher of Jennifer Fisher Jewelry!
French fashion friends Laure Heriard Dubreuil and Alexandra Golovanoff met up in NYC for the Gucci resort show, both in two cool looks that showcase the new wide cut of pants and jeans right now.
Liv Tyler wore Stella McCartney head to toe to the designer’s show in NYC on Monday.
Stella McCartney has so many fabulous designs, it’s no wonder she has so many famous friends. Actress and Style Rookie founder Tavi Gevinson wore a cool pair of wide-legged pants with cut outs from the spring 2015 Stella McCartney collection to the resort show in NYC on Monday.
An all-white outfit looks even better accessorized with a colorful bag, like this Paula Cademartori one carried by Carola Bernard in Milan.
A chic and sophisticated look on Anya Ziourova in crisp black and white at the Balmain show in Paris. The neck tie, with just one fold at the throat and the ends dangling long, is particularly in fashion right now. Try it with any silk scarf.
It may still be too cold for shorts, but you can always change the story by shifting to spring colors, like this caramel and navy outfit on Margaret Zhang at Chloe. A silk scarf tied at the neck is not just a classic look but an instant spring 2015 update.
