Erica Pelosini and J.J. Martin wore matching prints from J.J.’s fashion line La Double J to the Marni show. The looks are part of a welcome trend to replicate vintage prints with modern materials, so there’s no more sweating away in thick polyester just so you can wear something cool and retro. For La Double J., Martin goes through troves of prints in an Italian archive, then licenses and reproduces them in Italy with eye-catching results.
Sofa prints! Who knew they could be so chic? But they’re popping up everywhere, especially on lightweight floral coats for fall. Pair it with a velvet top and you’ve got a Victorian vibe going.
Fall’s darker colors and rich textures are starting to emerge in the fashion choices on the street. Natasha Goldenberg wore a skirt embellished with mirrors and a ruffle, adding more layers with a sweater tied around the waist.
Justin O’Shea wore a great black and white checked coat to the Marni show in Milan with tinted shades.
Miroslava Duma arrived at the Marni show yesterday in a beautiful belted hunter green jumpsuit by Calvin Klein, styling it with a matching scarf around her neck. Detail shot of her Hermes bag, after the jump.
Crop tops and full skirts have a sexy 1950s sensibility that really works right now. At the BCBG show, Editorialist‘s Kate Davidson Hudson wore a Marni skirt and BCBG top and carried a Louis Vuitton bag.
A rainy day is no excuse to slouch in the style department: just make sure you have an excellent umbrella. In the cold rain outside the Marni show in Milan, Eleanora Carisi and Candela Novembre looked chic in Marni S/S 2013 outfits. Novembre’s bag is Prada, the umbrella is Chanel. And before you ditch all your platform shoes in favor of the flat soles in stores now, remember, they’re the fashionista’s version of rain boots. Detail shot of that bag, after the jump.
A guest at the Marni show wore Fendi from head to toe one rainy Sunday in Milan. The studded, architectural open toe Fendi SS2013 sandals have been a big hit this season, seen on several pairs of fashionable feet outside the shows. Close up of those shoes, after the jump. (more…)
Lane Crawford’s Sarah Rutson was is of the trendsetters who helped popularize cargo pants after they first appeared on the Balmain runway. Outside the Marni show, she wore a new menswear version with laces up the back and a camouflage parka. Sexy and sporty, all at once. Detail shot of the back of the trousers and boots after the jump. Loved this beautiful purple brocade coat on a guest at the Marni show and how she paired it with lace leggings and a feathered scarf. Exquisite, luxurious detail.
