Design Your Own Jonathan Adler Stuff
We’ve seen monogrammed towels and sheets, but unless you have a really devoted grandmother, it’s hard to find a custom-designed monogrammed wool throw pillow for your couch. Now you can design your own on the Jonathan Adler website–and chances are the results may be hipper than granny’s, like this 16 x 16 pillow for $98.

But you can learn to needlepoint, you say. Fine. But can you make a hand-loomed wool rug? How about a hand-loomed wool zebra rug in hot pink? (more…)
Pottery Barn Beach Umbrella
Correction: I think I like this Pottery Barn umbrella better than the Ace Hardware one mentioned in last week’s Beach Chic shopping guide. The Pottery Barn Market Umbrella has a pointy end and comes in patterns that would be easy to spot on the beach amid a sea of white or blue umbrellas. Best of all, it’s on sale: $135, down from $169.
Marimekko Slipcovers for IKEA
Sick of that IKEA couch but don’t have any (real) reason to upgrade? Slipcover maker Bemz, which manufactures slipcovers specifically for IKEA furniture, has teamed up with Marimekko to give your couch a designer spin. You can find slipcovers for almost every model of IKEA couch on their interactive site. This slipcover for the popular “Karlstad” couch, for example, will set you back $475 – not cheap, but much cheaper and easier than buying a new sofa. Who knew boring old Karlstad had it in him? Trust us, your aspiring interior decorator friends will be impressed.
