Just when we were getting used to the wide-legged pants silhouette, it seems to be moving back in the other direction. Spotted on several influential guests at the Paris shows, including stylist Barbara Martello, were big puffer jackets like this one by Carmen March with skinny pants or even stirrup leggings like these.
A good example of how eveningwear is blending with daywear, with classic shapes like the pantsuit now made of shimmery materials, as seen on Chriselle Lim at the Akris show.
Congrats to Kym Ellery of ELLERY, winner of the Australian Fashion Laureate award for best Australian womenswear. Aussie actress Sarah Ellen wore a beautiful white silk dress by the designer to the show in Paris this month. Ellery’s signature long flowing sleeves have been a particular favorite with the fashion set.
Another great look that also works for the office. Christine Centenera wore a blazer over a knit skirt and top to the Loewe show. It isn’t all business though: click through to see a sexy detail in the back of the jacket. (more…)
Another great vintage look on Clara Racz, this time with layered men’s ties and a U.S.A. bomber jacket.
Louboutin the man and the shoe is a frequent sighting at the couture shows. Outside the Alexis Mabille show, we spotted a particularly cool pair with a wavy heel and raffia cuff.
How to do gingham now: Alexandra Golovanoff brought this classic check into 2016 with a a voluminous jumpsuit with puffed sleeves. Cute and modern. Also note the new silhouette for heels now: low and blocky.
One of my favorite looks on Leaf Greener at couture week FW2016: a gorgeous green ruffled top and big dangly earrings. The ikat-print heels are an unexpected touch that work really well.
Carice van Houten a.k.a. the Game of Thrones‘ “Red Queen” looked so positively vibrant in fuchsia at last year’s Schiaparelli show that I didn’t recognize her until now. Just goes to show you want a jolt of summer color can do.
If you think of all white as the summer equivalent of all black, you will get over any qualms you have about wearing it. This classic neutral makes a statement while keeping you cool. Paula Goldstein posed in all white outside the Dior couture show in Paris.
Rainbows have been a recurring motif in fashion for the past few seasons. If you have anything rainbow, now is the time to bust it out.
Covetable shoes, bag, and pretty much everything on Janka Polliani at the Cedric Charlier show in Paris. The clashing colors keep it from being a little too neat.
Clothes that work for the office don’t have to be dowdy. At the Cedric Charlier show in Paris, Darja Barannik combined a midi skirt and jacket with heels and a crossbody chain bag for a look that’s both professional and fashionable – in Gucci green and red colors.
Colorful cocktail dress season is upon us, and thank God! It makes getting dressed for parties so much easier. Outside the Emporio Armani show, a matching dress, shoes and bag.
