One of my favorite looks on Leaf Greener at couture week FW2016: a gorgeous green ruffled top and big dangly earrings. The ikat-print heels are an unexpected touch that work really well.
If you think of all white as the summer equivalent of all black, you will get over any qualms you have about wearing it. This classic neutral makes a statement while keeping you cool. Paula Goldstein posed in all white outside the Dior couture show in Paris.
The humble sweatshirt has made a comeback recently thanks to Parisian label Vetements. Outside the Dries van Noten show, it gets layered under a sculpted, tailored jacket to make the whole look less casual.
Mia Moretti has a real gift for making everything retro new again. Here in a collared black, red and white look at Emporio Armani in Milan.
Rain, rain go away! Daniela Zuccotti of Fregola handled the bad weather in Milan in style with a transparent umbrella and gray jumpsuit.
Stripes, solids, and a pop of print and color that acts like a colorful throw pillow – the kind of mix that an interior designer might put together, or in this case, design and lifestyle blogger Athena Calderone of Eye Swoon.
Braving the elements with a red silk skirt at the Lacoste show in New York.
Here’s more of that rich orange hue we’re seeing for fall, in the form of a jumpsuit on Kristina Bazan. The woven suede clutch is a great accessory for the look.
We’re seeing a trend/counter-trend effect here at New York Fashion Week, with romantic, flowy dresses a la Gucci dueling with the sporty look of vintage jeans. High-waisted, light wash vintage Levis are the favorite of the moment, as seen on blogger Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What. She dresses them up with a Sally LaPointe top and Celine shoes. Some detail shots, after the jump. (more…)
I guess it’s the prep in me, but I’m always a sucker for bright colored pants in the summer, like these bright pink ones seen on Lorena Vergani at the Schiaparelli couture show in Paris.
Tropical prints like this Tracy Reese skirt on Mexican actress Adriana Abascal are a refreshing pop of color to usher in the warm weather. I also like how she mixed it with multicolored Jimmy Choo shoes, a blue clutch and blue sunglasses without looking too matchy-matchy.
With spring fully upon us, I am definitely feeling the need for some culottes. Skinny jeans were nowhere to be found outside the shows this season, and as hard as it is to pry oneself away from a trusty standard, it’s time to start wrapping one’s mind around a different silhouette like this one.
