New York Fashion Week Men’s
Paris Warren handled the snow last week with a fur coat thrown over a white shirt with tassels, still stylish despite the weather.
One for the New York Times last week: Jian DeLeon headed out into a snow storm to get to the menswear shows. A baseball cap is actually a great idea for shielding the snow.
Proud to photograph street style during NYFW: Men’s for failing New York Times! Here’s the resulting slideshow. Terrific!
So this happened over the New Year: a round up of some of the best street style photos from the NYT, including some of mine! Thanks to my editors, photographer colleagues and everyone who posed for us. These photos wouldn’t exist without the fabulous fashion out on the streets. (more…)
It’s hard to believe, but we’re already moving into the spring/summer 2017 season in fashion. Last week marked the S/S 2017 menswear shows in NYC, where the guys still dressed well despite the heat. Here’s a whole slideshow of menswear photos I took for the New York Times Styles section for @nytimesfashion on Instagram. Major trends noted on the streets: multiple necklaces and open shirts, as seen on model Luka Sabbat above, chinoiserie and Japanese prints, especially on jackets, shorts suits, kimono dressing, and – wait for it – sandals worn with socks. Never say never!
If I remember this moment correctly, a beautiful, well-dressed woman walked into the Prabal Gurung show, a couple of us snapped her photo, but no one even asked her to stop – no one recognized Lily Aldridge, including me, until now. The Prabal Gurung show last fall was the first fashion show she ever attended as a guest. So here’s one from the archives: Lily Aldridge in a great Prabal Gurung print shift dress, outside the show last September.
Fashion journalist Blue Carreon wore his signature color – including floral print pants – to the Orley show in New York.
Kate Lanphear, editor-in-chief of Maxim magazine, mixed a pinstripe suit with a vintage rock tee and stilettos at the Michael Bastian show during NYFW: Men’s.
Embroidered shorts are a preppy summer staple, but they’re dangerously cool when they’re embroidered with sharks, as seen on Nick Wooster outside the Tommy Hilfiger presentation.
Fashion journalist Jeffrey Podolsky of Barron’s after the Michael Bastian show. As soon as photographers asked for his picture, he lit up a cigarette and smoked it throughout the whole photo session. His outfit too is a bit unorthodox: a pinstriped suit paired with white sneakers, beaded bracelets and a colorful necklace.
