I’ve seen a lot of fashion shows in my time, but not until this weekend did I ever get to be in one. As part of the Blogher 2012 conference, more than a dozen bloggers walked in a show outfitted by online retailer 6pm. I was somewhat terrified of having a Carrie moment on the runway and have a newfound appreciation for professional models. Fortunately I made it through without falling, even on 6-inch Jessica Simpson platform stilettos. (They’re surprisingly comfortable, BTW.) Here are a few Instagram shots from backstage. Follow me on Instagram for up-to-the-minute fashion and food updates – especially as we head into fashion week!
At top: shoes, glorious shoes: we got to pick from all of them.
A rack of clothes waiting for us models.
Makeup by Elizabeth Arden.
My hairdo for the show. A team from Paul Mitchell did our hair.
Another model in the show. Really! A few of us walked dogs from Pet Smart down the runway.
Jenni of I Spy DIY in makeup.
Reagan of Hairdresser on Fire in hair for the show.
Some fab Roberto Cavalli shoes on Claire of the Fashion Bomb.
Thanks also to the Budget Fashionista, stylist Darlene Gillard, Southern Hospitality, Already Pretty, Stylish Curves, the Big Girl Blog, Stripes and Sequins, Love Brown Sugar, Stacy Jill Calvert, and all the other cool bloggers I met in the show.
