Rodarte
Posted by bellastraniera - 23/02/10 at 06:02 pm It’s called Rodar-TAY, darling. A select few braved the frosty atmosphere for the Rodarte show and arrived wearing some lovely, warm clothes for the occasion.Sometimes, all it takes is a coat in just the right color, like the peachy nude of this overcoat, paired here with a fur hat and beige scarf.
These YSL totes distributed at fashion week every season quickly become collector’s items. The spring bag in a strawberry print.
A leopard coat and black knit watch cap – the classic high-low mix of the season.

This dress and coat in black and white print are particularly interesting because of the softness of the edges. Here graphic black and white are less mod, more folkloric.
Love her ’20s-style cap and red lipstick, plus the winter white overcoat on her friend.
Given the amount of bad weather we have in New York, you’d think that many fashion week attendees would invest in a good umbrella. But no! Hanneli Mustaparta in a white knit hood. She turned out to be quite a trendsetter with this look, wearing it way before hoods became popular on the runway.
Style blogger and Rodarte spokesperson Tavi came in a signature quirky outfit: black and white hat with tulle, a military jacket, blue and white poncho, and Rodarte tights. A true fashion original – her blue rinse hair is gaining a following, too.
A nouveau punk look of black biker jacket, ruffled white tunic and red patent leather shoes also channels Lady Gaga with the oversize sunglasses and bow.
Fashion blogger Bryan Boy in studded biker jacket layered with a denim and fleece vest. He’s also wearing some kick-ass motorcycle boots.

This lady in a towering hat and veil and black cloak was amazing.
Stylist Giovanna Battaglia wears a Where the Wild Things Are X Opening Ceremony coat and Jimmy Choo boots. And yes, that’s Bill Cunningham behind her.
A somber look of all black gets a jolt from her mod haircut of blond bangs.
You could never, ever accuse Vogue’s Andre Leon Talley of being underdressed for any occasion. Here he is in a calf-length reversible mink cape. Fantastic.
Photo blogger Guerre of Swagger 360 in wonderfully WASPy embroidered print corduroys and wellies, paired with a distinctly urban leather jacket.
The doors opened and Diane von Furstenberg walked out – surprise! Another big fur hat, this time paired with a purple fur jacket.
A military look of black hooded parka gets feminized with bright red lipstick and matching nails.
Another hooded parka. Note the flattering A-line silhouette of this jacket: It keeps you looking more fashionable, less army-navy store.
Rachel Zoe in a fur jacket, black patent boots, and black fur hat. Though it may be faux fur if it’s from her own line.
Passing the bar: This ’70s style of sunglasses is everywhere now. Here they are pink paired with a navy down vest.
Hamish Bowles, the epitome of English country chic, in a plaid scarf, blue-gray coat, wellies and canvas L.L. Bean-type tote.
A model off duty in a gray shearling jacket and beige suede booties.
An oxblood-colored hat with a green and orange ribbon.
One last photo.
