Chanel

It doesn’t get more see-and-be-seen than the Chanel show in Paris, held on a bitterly cold morning at the Grand Palais. Ladies who lunch mixed with fashion editors and put their best foot (and shoes, and coats, and hats, and jewels…) forward.

Chinchilla Coat, Chanel

One of several gray chinchilla coats at the show. Also, many Chanel bags, suits, and shoes were instantly recognizable – such is the power of the brand.

Ladies Outside the Show, Chanel

Women gathered outside the show before it started.

Gray Suit and Polka Dots, Chanel

A gray suit and gray silk tie mixed with a black and white polka dot scarf.

Chanel Suit and Wide Brim Hat, Chanel

I am loving the aristocratic Out of Africa look of these wide brim hats that keep popping up on chic women. Combining it with Ray Bans and a Chanel suit and bag is a great mix of sportswear and city wear on a cold day.

Ivory Coat, Chanel

A beautiful ivory coat made of elaborately ruched/rosette fabric.

Fur Jacket and Zipper Boots, Chanel

The urban chic of tough zipper boots and leggings paired with a tony gold-detail handbag and fur jacket.

Shearling Cape and Leather Leggings, Chanel

A shearling cape and leather leggings.

Ivory Chanel Jacket, Chanel

A cropped Chanel jacket and bag are the perfect topper to wide-legged trousers and a studded belt.

Black and White, Chanel

Black and white and big sunglasses telegraph Chanel.

Leopard Coat and Ski Cap, Chanel

The new high-low uniform for cold city days: leopard print coat with a knit cap and sporty sunglasses.

White Coat and Chanel Jewelry, ChanelDecked out in Chanel.

Shades of Gray, Chanel

The toned-down glamour of gray.

Bow at the Collar, Chanel

Love the bow and brooch detail.

Trench with Chanel Bag, Chanel

Another great uniform for day: trench coat with a cross-body Chanel bag.

Chinchilla Coat and Chanel Jacket, Chanel

The hair! The makeup! The Chanel jacket and jewelry! This lady came dressed to the nines for the show.

Spotted Fur Coat, Chanel

Black and white fur jacket and long, lean black pants.

Plum Sykes at Chanel

Plum Sykes in an ombre fur jacket, pleated black trousers and metallic open toe heels.

Ivory Cropped Trousers, Chanel

Ivory trousers in a cool pleated, cropped cut.

Gray Socks and Stilettos, Chanel

Gray socks are a means of winterizing strappy stilettos. Expect to see more of this look next fall.

Sharp Shoulder Blouse, Chanel

Love her pixie haircut and the classic white blouse in a sharp shoulder cut, paired with a floral spring skirt and ivory bag. But she must have been very cold!

Army Green Trench and Chanel Bag

The dark piping on this army green trench takes it up a notch for more sophisticated occasions – especially when paired with over-the-knee boots.

Leather Leggings and Fur Vest, Chanel

Lots of layers: a fur vest, green body-con dress and leather leggings are sexy but warm.

Wide Brim Hat, Chanel

Another wide brimmed hat confers a sporty, aristocratic look.

Feather Boa, Chnael

Fending off the cold with feathers.

Gray Turban and Leather Leggings, Chanel

Turbans were a glamorous and popular headgear choice this past fashion week.

Gray Fur and Peach Dress, Chanel

Winter with a hint of spring: a gray fur covers a peach chiffon dress worn with white oxfords.

Nina Garcia at Chanel

Nina Garcia in a sporty military look.

Sleeveless Trench, Chanel

I die! The perfect outfit of oxblood suede and patent oxfords, khaki pants and a sleeveless trench, animal print sleeves, and again a great wide brimmed hat as the topper.

Schoolgirl Look, Chanel

Love her cute schoolgirl look of the beret and leather folio.

Fringed Layers, Chanel

Dramatic fringed layers over a black leather top and black mini.
