Central Park
Posted by bellastraniera - 30/10/09 at 12:10 pm On a beautiful fall Sunday when the rain finally cleared, New Yorkers emerged to stroll around Central Park. Knitwear, shades of yellow and orange, and more flat boots were some of the best seasonal looks. An aristocratic look, accessorized with dog.
Slouchy flat suede boots look luxe but relaxed.

This young mom looked beautifully pulled together in a reddish orange skirt, belted cardigan and boots.
A busker with an eye for fashion in a fedora with striped band, striped shirt and brown oxfords.
A cableknit sweater coat accessorized with a bright orange scarf.
A mustard-yellow coat buttoned up the back.
Crossover alert: the Brooklyn plaid shirt set seems to be getting into the Bronx trend of colorful hightop sneakers.
Two pairs of leopard flats.
Red dress, patterned stockings and flat boots. I’m not sure about wildly printed tights and leggings, but look out for both with more subtle patterns like these. Patterned black stockings were also spotted last night at the successful Surgeons OverSeas benefit at Swann Galleries.
This is the look du jour, and it owes a debt to ’80s fashion: oversize jackets and tops paired with black leggings and flat boots. Tough but feminine. Military jackets like these will also be huge this spring.
Another example of “pantslessness” that’s nonetheless stylish: Long plaid shirt with tights? leggings? and some tough boots and a motorcycle jacket.
This costumed wood nymph is often near Poet’s Walk in Central Park. Today she was dressed up in oranges, reds, and browns that perfectly matched the gorgeous scenery.
On the left, a study in bows. On the right, the dark florals that look so good right now, a little girly, a little Goth.
This brilliant blue provided a dash of complementary color to the scenery.
More dark florals: a summer dress layered with a T-shirt, tights and a sweater. The cross-body satchel is great.
The end of Poet’s Walk.
