Yesterday’s Lacroix couture show – potentially the last for the vaunted but financially-strapped haute couture label – won raves from WWD, which called it “perfection.”
Like Edina of “Absolutely Fabulous,” many of us would willingly sacrifice our first born to own some of these clothes and toss off the words “It’s Lacroix, darling!” The latest collection manages to be both somber and quietly ebullient, mixing elaborate detailing and draping with dark, neutral colors.
Wonderful schoolgirl dress and an oversized pillbox hat.
I hope there is a return of the turban to eveningwear. It’s so very Edie – the other Edie.
A gorgeous tea-length evening dress.
