I can’t say enough good things about the Jil Sander collection for UNIQLO that launched earlier this fall. Each piece in the women’s and men’s lines was beautifully tailored out of high quality material, most notably the soft, supple wool used in the coats, jackets, skirts and pants, and the prices were amazing for this level of quality. I bought several black and gray pieces this fall and wear them all the time.

Good news: the Jil Sander collection at UNIQLO, called + J, was not a one-time deal. There’s another diffusion line for spring, and it’s launching at the Broadway store January 14th. The focus is on “functional elegance” and the luxury of “discreet perfectionism,” and there will be lots of white and ivory pieces, pastels, and “chalked out acids,” and waterproof fabrics made of ultra fine cotton.
Here’s the price range of the + J UNIQLO Spring/Summer 2010 line, straight from the source:
Outerwear, Coats & Jackets $49.50 – $149.50
Bottoms $39.50-$59.50
Shirts $39.50
Dresses $49.50-$99.50
Cut & Sewn $10.50-$49.50
Knitwear $29.50-$129.50
Another good thing about UNIQLO’s diffusion line: unlike H&M’s diffusion lines, there’s a massive quantity of stuff which they’re constantly restocking, so you don’t have to camp out overnight with 5,000 teenagers to buy it in the first 30 seconds the store opens. I waited 45 minutes to get in on the second day the fall collection was in store and found plenty of everything still in stock. If you missed the fall collection, don’t miss this one!
