It’s here… Mercedes Benz Fashion Week SS10! Just looking at the incredibly stylish people who showed up for the Ports 1961 show should jump start your fashion mojo. Skirts and strappy black sandals were the favored uniform of the day, though the new tailored cropped trousers made an appearance as well. On the runway, designer Tia Ciabani showed ethereal dresses and suits that were futuristic yet wearable, in shimmery draped pinks, silver, and gold.
An ultra-feminine white frilled skirt softens the tough chick edge of a biker jacket and bondage heels.
An early sighting of over the knee boots, right. On the left, wearing cropped trousers with booties.
Eternally-chic red lipstick. The only thing that changes is the exact hue – hers is a warm, orange-infused red.
Great accessories, including a statement necklace. I like how she’s pulled her hair back into a simple ponytail with a middle part. Note the red nails, too.
The neutral gray-and-white palette keeps the focus on the great tailoring of these pants. Not that the platform spike heels aren’t enviable, too.
An adorable back-to-school look of a navy blazer paired with jeans and Ferragamo flats.
This Hermes orange is perfect at this time of year.
Very artfully put together: a gray tunic with a leather tie belt, cardigan, and silk mini.
All black can be interesting when it’s this deep, inky, and perfectly tailored.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, this guy is wearing many of the Miami Beach pastels that figure prominently in the spring collections.
Making a dramatic entrance in clothes that really flow.
A boyfriend-style plaid shirt paired with short shorts is very sexy, especially with these peep-toe suede boots.
Love the gray ruffles on the right, the Chanel bag and silk blouse on the left.
Here’s how to wear jeans this season: with platform stilettos, a shrunken blazer, an interesting drapey top, and a beautiful bag.
Sarah Rutson in an amazing leopard-print scarf with fluorescent fringe. Interesting that she is wearing flats: Last year at this time she was wearing the bondage platforms everyone else is wearing now.
Flowers, flowers everywhere, even in her hair.
Great military cap and orange plaid jacket.
More orange. Disheveled preppy chic.
Multi-strand statement necklace and a vintage-y embroidered bag.
More cropped trousers, also paired with booties.
Black strappy sandals were the de rigeur shoe.
Meredith Melling Burke of Vogue in a customized Fashion’s Night Out tee.
She wins for most badass accessories. Sexy heels and a studded bag.
Shoe mania: hers are to die for.
Cuffed shorts with a boyfriend blazer.
Amazing hair.
