In the news: per NYMag, the new Chanel ads featuring Lily Allen were shot by Karl Lagerfeld. More importantly, what is up with the bags featured in the ads? It looks like Karl decided to take some North Face sleeping-bag jackets from 2001 and turn them into handbags.*
How could we have missed this horror on the runway? How could Karl perpetrate this crime against fashion just when even the tackiest people are unwilling to take “fashion risks” they never should have embarked upon? It’s too bad given the resurgence of the classic Chanel cross-body chain bag as the arm candy of choice.
At least they’re cuddly?
