Barcelona Street Chic
Posted by bellastraniera - 04/12/09 at 09:12 am Personal style in Barcelona reflects the city’s modernist architecture: playful, sometimes colorful, and daring. There’s little focus on logos and labels and more on line, organic shapes, and playing colors off of one another.A mustard-yellow velvet jacket adds a pop of color. The skirt is also interesting, pleated and slightly deconstructed.
Nearly all the women wore black boots for walking around the city during the day. A daring haircut and gray palette.
Layers of knitwear and a leopard bag. The women of Barcelona aren’t nearly so buttoned-up as New Yorkers. The look is more relaxed but still stylish.
Many men wore toggle coats. The yellow pants in November remind you that this isn’t just Europe but a Mediterranean city. Bikes are one of the main modes of transportation here. Like Paris, Barcelona has a bike-sharing program for city residents, and tourists can easily rent bikes to sightsee around town.
More oversized knitwear on her and some funky glasses that could have come out of Williamsburg. Note: pantslessness is everywhere here too.
A belted black coat and boots made for a good shopping outfit near Las Ramblas.
