’80s Fashion: Top 10 Most Influential Movies and TV

Don’t forget, darlings: the ’80s were the age of excess, and no show summed that up better than Dynasty (1981-1989). The jewels, the gowns, the hair, the sequins – all were a fantasy of what it meant to be filthy rich – a fantasy that Ivana Trump and other socialites took to heart, dressing nearly identically in reality. Joan Collins led the pack with her scarlet lips and elaborate poufy gowns – these shoulders look a lot like the ones from the FS09 runways. Linda Evans played the good-girl foil, embodying the innocent look that pushed designers like Laura Ashley and Ralph Lauren to the top of the ’80s fashion charts.
