Café culture thrives in Tribeca, especially on the main drag of West Broadway, where Odeon first put down roots in 1980 and many sidewalk cafés followed. Even on a drizzly day there’s not much incentive to sit indoors. You’d just miss the view: the people.

Ain’t that the truth?
Did anyone ask you not to take their picture? I’m still trying to formulate a polite way to say that to people.

Strangely, no one has asked me yet not to take their picture. But you can tell from people’s expressions that some of them are annoyed, some of them enjoy it.
“Please don’t take my picture” works, if you can get up the nerve to say it!
